About Ethan
Ethan Morneau is thrilled to be reporting on beautiful Vancouver Island. He enjoys crafting stories of all types, including feature stories. He produces online articles and accompanying TV reports for viewers in British Columbia, Canada, and beyond.
Ethan, from Niagara, Ontario, joined Campbell River’s 99.7 The River (Vista Radio) as Reporter and On-Air Host. He eventually transitioned to News Anchor for the weekday news broadcasts. A few years later, he made the move to Victoria, where he was Senior Reporter at Victoria Buzz prior to joining CHEK News, an employee-owned TV station.
He was hired as Digital News Editor at CHEK, and now simultaneously works as TV Journalist. Find him filming, editing and voicing his stories, which have aired during the channel's 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts.
A Jack Webster fellowship recipient, Ethan studied Investigative Journalism at Florida’s Poynter Institute. He also attended Niagara College for Broadcasting, Brock University for Media and Sheridan for Bachelor of Photography. At 19, he won a Readers’ Choice Award for his web and graphic design work. Around this time, he worked the social media channels for Bell Media radio stations in Niagara.
